Saramonic Vmic5 Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone Designed to help vloggers, content creators, mobile journalists, and run-and-gun videographers achieve clear, high-quality audio capture for their video shoots, the compact and lightweight Saramonic Vmic5 camera-mount shotgun microphone combines focused supercardioid directionality, onboard controls for level and bass control, and convenient headphone monitoring. Its integrated shockmount allows easy mounting on a camera shoe or tripod while inhibiting vibrations and handling noise, and a coiled TRS cable is supplied for orderly wiring between the mic and your camera or portable recorder.
Saramonic Vmic5, a super-cardioid on-camera condenser shotgun microphone, captures and delivers clear and warm sound. The super-cardioid pickup pattern focuses on the sounds in front while still offering a high level of rear rejection, providing broadcast-quality audio to DSLR, Mirrorless, and Video Cameras.
The Vmic5 features an output level control, a high-pass filter to increase intelligibility of dialogue. High Pass Filter(Flat/150Hz) allows reducing low frequencies such as rumble from traffic or air conditioning while +10dB gain control function is designed to improve audio quality on DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
A specially designed shock mount system provides isolation from vibration and mechanical noise. What’s more, with headphone monitor output, Vmic5 allows you to hear your live input signal through the headphone without any distracting echo or latency. Besides, with plug-in power availability, Vmic5 has a capacity of 2000mAh built-in battery that allows being charged via USB-C (DC 5V/1A), providing over 150 hours of recording, helping user free of battery anxiety.
If you want to have one on-camera microphone to improve your audio, Vmic5 is what you need.
By operating on an internal rechargeable battery or USB bus power, the Vmic5 is able to work with cameras that don’t supply plug-in power or phantom power. The rear of the mic features onboard controls for the two-stage gain adjustment and high-pass filter—helpful functions that let you optimize the signal quality at the mic instead of during postproduction. The mic comes two types of windscreens for recording indoors or outside in high-wind environments.
Directional Response
The Vmic5 features a directional supercardioid polar pattern that focuses on sound in front of it while greatly attenuating sound from the sides, making it a considerable step up from the audio capture quality of internal camera mics.
Onboard Gain Control
It features a gain switch with two positions—the +10 dB boost is for achieving clean gain on cameras with noisy preamps, whereas the 0 dB setting is for use with high-quality preamps.
Bass Control
A 150 Hz high-pass filter eliminates low-frequency noise and rumble caused by HVAC systems, wind, or footsteps that can ruin a recording.
Camera Mount
The integrated shockmount isolates the Vmic5 from unwanted vibration noise and includes a built-in shoe mount, so it can be attached to cameras with ease.
Battery or Bus Power
The Vmic5 runs on an internal USB-rechargeable battery for up to 150 hours, so your camera or recording device doesn’t need to supply plug-in power or phantom power. Alternatively, the mic may be powered by a USB-connected device such as a power bank.
Main and Headphone Outputs
Use the included short, coiled output cable to connect the main 3.5mm output jack to your camera, mixer, or recorder. A built-in headphone output on the Vmic5 enables you to hear your sound, even when your camera lacks a headphone jack.
Expanded Connectivity
Since the included cable is removable, it allows use of other 3.5mm TRS output cables (available separately) in its place. Attach a longer cable for use on a boompole, use a 3.5mm to Lightning cable (Saramonic SR-C2000) to connect to iPhones and iPads, 3.5mm to USB Type-C cable (Saramonic SR-C2001) to connect to Android smartphones, tablets, and computers, or a 3.5mm to TRRS cable (Saramonic SR-PMC2) for smartphones, tablets, and modern computers with a headphone port.
Indoor and Outdoor Wind Protection
The inclusion of a foam windscreen and a furry windshield allows you to record anywhere with less noise from wind.
